In the 2018 Times Higher Education World University Ranking the subject Business and Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam scored 2nd in the Netherlands, 6th in Europe and 24th in the World.
Erasmus School of Economics offers a proven track record in education. The school links economic theory with practice through the involvement of industry and governments. Erasmus School of Economics offers 6 Bachelor's degree programmes and a variety of Master's degree programmes.

A growing number of our bachelor students follow a double degree of Economics, combined with either Econometrics, Philosophy or Law. The double degree programme Economics & Law is taught in Dutch. The other double degree programmes, (BSc2 in Econometrics & Economics and Economtrics or Economics & Philosophy) are thaught in English.
The history of Erasmus School of Economics goes back to the year 1913 when the "Nederlandse Handels-hoogeschool" was established. With a history of 105 years there are quite some highlights. One of them is the moment Jan Tinbergen was awarded with the first Nobel Prize in economics, together with Ragnar Fisher, on 10 December 1969.
